Bird lovers already have an important date this autumn: from October 24 to 26, 2025, the municipality of Castropol hosts the III edition of the Ría del Eo Ornithological Days, an event designed to enjoy the natural environment, learn about ornithology and share experiences with people who share the same hobby.
During these three days, activities for all audiences will be offered, both adults and children, combining talks, workshops and outdoor outings.
The Eo Estuary: a paradise for birdwatching
The Eo Estuary, located between Asturias and Galicia, is an area of enormous ecological value. This area has been declared a Partial Nature Reserve and is included within the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA).
Thanks to its location and the dynamics of the tides, it is common to see species such as waders, gulls, egrets, cormorants, ducks, and herons in the estuary, which find a place to stop and rest. All of this makes this enclave an ideal place for observing and studying wildlife, especially during the autumn months.
