More than 30 years promoting sustainable rural tourism from San Tirso de Abres

We are very happy to share some very special news: Yolanda Alzu, founder and manager of Amaido Agroturismo, has been awarded the 2025 Self-Employed Businesswoman of the Year Award, granted by CEAT-Asturias.
This award highlights a career spanning more than three decades promoting rural tourism in Asturias, creating local employment and supporting a sustainable, authentic tourism model committed to the environment.

This is not the first award Yolanda has received for her professional career.

In 2023, Amaido Agroturismo was recognized as the Best Natural Environment Campsite in Spain, jointly with Camping Rinlo, an award that placed San Tirso de Abres on the map of nature tourism nationwide.

Two consecutive recognitions that reflect the ongoing commitment to quality and sustainability.

A reward for constant work in rural areas

The Self-Employed Businesswoman of the Year 2025 Award, granted by CEAT-Asturias (Spanish Confederation of Self-Employed Workers’ Associations), will be presented on August 8 in Gijón, during the Asturias International Trade Fair (FIDMA).

The jury has evaluated:

✔️ Yolanda Alzu’s professional career as an entrepreneur in rural areas.
✔️ Amaido’s contribution to the tourism, economic, and social development of western Asturias.
✔️ His sustainable tourism model, based on agriculture, training, and participation.

This award is linked to the Asturian Federation of Entrepreneurs (FADE), which seeks to “promote social recognition of the self-employed entrepreneur and publicize the performance of their work in the service of society, rewarding entrepreneurial effort, the capacity for innovation and the success of the projects they undertake.”
